The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA) is trying to cover up its darker side by advertising on TV for members to join their “Wholesome Family Sport”.

Gun Control Australia Spokesperson Randy Marshall noted that ”The Real Aim of the SSAA is get a new generation to support its wish to
destroy gun Laws”. “People should not be fooled by pretty images of family life enjoying shooting – shooting is about practising to kill – that’s why guns are manufactured”

“Every person who joins the SSAA helps destroy the gun laws which protect Australians” said Mr Marshall, “The SSAA has opposed all the
improved gun laws over the last decade”

“A Decade ago the annual death rate from gun use was almost 700. Now it is less than half that. This means that Thousands of Australian
lives have been saved by gun laws which the SSAA has done all in its power to stop being legislated”, said Mr Marshall.

“There is a great danger to the community if people think that the gun culture is good for a country. Socialisation into guns and commitment
to gun availability is largely the reason why the USA at times becomes a shooting gallery”, said Mr Marshall. “Shootings at Littleton Colorado and a dozen others US High Schools show us why the gun culture should be opposed, not promoted”
